There is nothing more humbling than washing the feet of a person who has been exiled from their own society. Today at the medical clinic, we washed and oiled the feet of all the leprosy afflicted people in the colony. It was an incredible experience to witness the joy and gratitude on their faces as we did it. We gave them desperately needed medical attention that they couldn't get at the hospitals in India. We measured their blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and gave them medicine and bandages. They were very grateful and so happy with the little that they had.

At the colony we met a man named Nouvan (not sure how you spell that), who sang and danced and beatboxed the whole time we were there. He had no fingers or toes, but he was just so happy to be alive that he couldn't stop yelling hallelujah! He was an amazing man and it was incredible to see someone with so little, be so happy.
